My Love for Nice Cream
My family loves nice cream. We eat it daily. Sometimes two, maybe three times a day! It’s guilt free so why not?! In case you have never heard of nice cream it is simply frozen bananas blended up- sometimes also called “banana ice cream”. It is cruelty free as well as guilt free since it is only blended fruit!
I make many different variations of nice cream. Chocolate, vanilla, cherry, cookies n cream, berry- the possibilities are endless. Today I will share with you my chocolate fudge and vanilla nice cream.
What you will need:
•8 frozen bananas
•10 medjool dates
•3 tbs raw cacao powder
•1 vanilla bean
•raw cacao nibs
There are three different ways you can make nice cream. This will depend on what equipment you have available. Please read the three methods to see which will best suit you.
Vitamix: blend frozen bananas, using tamper to push down.
Food processor: use “s” blade to blend.
Regular blender: use two fresh bananas and add chunks of four frozen bananas. You may need to stop, turn blender off and push down bananas. You can add a tiny bit of water if necessary.
I have a high powered blender (Vitamix) so I will be using that.
This nice cream has two different flavours so we will be making nice cream twice. First we will make the chocolate fudge layer- seriously amazing!!!!
First step: in blender add in 6 pitted medjool dates, 3 tbs cacao powder and 1/4 cup water. Blend until smooth consistency.
Next step: add in 4 frozen bananas to chocolate mix. Use tamper to continually push down until completely mixed in. This should now be an ice cream consistency. Scoop into bowl and set aside in freezer until vanilla later ready.
Next step: don’t worry about rinsing blender. Add in 4 pitted medjool dates, 1 vanilla bean and 1/4 cup water. Blend until smooth consistency.
Next step: add in 4 frozen bananas to vanilla mix. Use tamper to push down and blend just like did with the chocolate fudge.
Last step: add vanilla nice cream to chocolate fudge layer and top with cacao nibs.
Bananas are high in vitamin b6. Vitamin b6 helps the body turn food into energy! It is also great for metabolism, protecting the immune system, and amazing for the brain!
